DIY Anthropology Inspired Rolling Pin

JUST ROLL WITH IT! I have been swooning over all the cute rolling pins from The pioneer Women, Anthropology, and Target! I have a few rolling pins I don’t use, but display in my pantry so I was thinking of a way to spice them up. My original plan was to paint the handles black like the cute Hearth and Hand ones, but who knew a little paper could make such an impact!

This was such an easy project!

I’m excited to find some paper to switch out for the upcoming holidays!

If I inspired you to try this project please tag me over on my Instagram! I would love to see and share!

We made some slight changes from the original floor plan. We knew we wanted a bigger shower so that was at the top of our list. We extended it into the closet. I also wanted the door from the bedroom to the bathroom to be even with the bathroom tub and window. For some reason it wasn’t even in the plan and it wasn't until it was already framed that I noticed. Crap! But luckily our builder was so awesome and had the framers move it for me. It’s things like that that drive me crazy. The original plan also had his and her vanities. We have never used both vanities in houses we had in the past so I took out “His” and I’m so glad I did.

CHANGES:

-Bigger shower

-Entry to the bathroom

-Remove vanity

THE LIST

It was really important to me to create a space for both Luke and I.  I have never been the type to deck the bedroom out with pink and frill. I would never want Luke to feel uncomfortable or that he couldn't touch anything, after all it is his bedroom too! When designing our master suite from colors, pattern, fixtures, & accessories I considered both of our likes, needs, and wants.

Welcome to our Master Bedroom.

Where 90’s R & B plays on repeat.

Bedroom Inspiration: South Eastern Utah (my kneck of the woods), The mountains (Luke’s home away from home). Modern. Classic. Rustic.

How we accomplished the look: Used Neutral colors, brought the Outdoors in, clean modern fixtures, cozy bedding & pillows, rustic accessories.

I wanted something with style and comfort. And man did I find it! Seriously! The prettiest most comfortable bedding I have ever experienced. And the best thing is it is husband approved!

The closet.

A place for him to kick his boots off.

The vanity we took out of the plan was set to go across from the shower. I like the space  it created. I’m still trying to decide what to do there. Bench, shelves, full body mirror? Ideas welcome!

You better believe I saved the best for last. My all time favorite part of the master suite is the pocket door from the master closet to the laundry room! HOLLA!

Shout out to Beddy’s Beds for making our bed cozy, pretty, and made with a zip! They are now at the top of our Christmas list for the kiddos!

Windows

buildingElkee StewartComment

Windows are like the soul of your home, shining light onto all the moments shared within those four walls.

Your windows should reflect your homes character and because Modern homes look best with large  floor-to-ceiling windows,  they were a must have.

Color, Color, Color!

I wanted the windows to be one of the focal points of our homes exterior.  There were a couple things I had on the top of my list when I met with our builder for the first time.  Black framed windows were one of them no matter the cost.  It didn't take much to convince Luke, he loved them as much as I did. Boy did I learn a lot that first visit with Ezra.  Like the cost of windows.  Beige is the cheapest in price and not so cute, White is the most popular and totally affordable, and for some crazy reason Black is double the price but oh so eye catching.

SO like the crazy girl I am I went with it!

Our windows were custom painted black.  We decided on the exterior  only.

I can't wait to see it all come together!
